How to Play Tower Defense
Tower Defense puts you in command of the ultimate defensive line! Strategically place powerful towers along the enemy path to destroy waves of incoming creeps before they reach your base. Each tower has unique abilities — choosing the right combination and placement is the key to victory.
- Build Towers: Select a tower type from the panel, then click any empty green tile near the path. Arrow towers fire rapidly, Cannon towers deal splash damage, Ice towers slow enemies, and Lightning towers chain between multiple targets.
- Upgrade Towers: Click any existing tower to upgrade it (costs gold). Upgraded towers gain increased damage, range, and fire rate. A fully upgraded tower can hold an entire lane by itself!
- Start Waves: Press "Start Wave" to send the next group of enemies. Each wave is stronger than the last. Earn gold by destroying enemies — tougher creeps drop more gold.
- Sell Towers: Click "Sell Tower" then click a tower to remove it and recover 60% of its cost. Useful for repositioning your defense as the battlefield evolves.
Advanced Defense Strategies
Expert defenders know that choke points win games. Identify narrow sections of the path where enemies must funnel through. Place Ice towers at the entrance to slow the entire wave, then cluster Cannon and Lightning towers at the choke point for maximum splash damage on the slowed crowd.
Don't spread your upgrades thin — a fully upgraded tower is worth more than four basic ones. Focus gold on upgrading two or three key towers rather than building many weak ones. A max-level Cannon tower at a critical intersection can single-handedly clear waves while you build economy for the late game.

Tower Defense games evolved from real-time strategy custom maps, most notably Starcraft's "Turret Defense" in the late 1990s. The genre exploded with Warcraft III's modding community and later found massive success as standalone mobile games. The simple yet addictive formula of building, upgrading, and surviving has proven timeless.
